The first annual Matthew Peter Campbell Memorial Scholarship was awarded to 2022 Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaa.at Kalé graduate Jackson Marx. Matthew Campbell graduated from JDHS in 2013, was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2019 while obtaining his Master's Degree at Montana State University. He passed 10 months later in April, 2020 and was posthumously awarded his Master's degree in the MSU 2021 commencement ceremonies.
