Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau’s Post 25 American Legion baseball team won two games and lost three on an Anchorage road trip, Friday through Sunday.
Post 25 defeated North Pole Post 30 on Friday at Anchorage’s Mulcahy Stadium by the score of 3-2. Juneau scored two runs in the second inning and one in the third before North Pole crossed the plate.
Olin Rawson pitched the complete seven innings, allowing six hits and striking out four and walking two
Oliver Mendoza led Post 25 with one RBI. Rawson, Mendoza and Austin McCurley had one hit each
and Isaiah Nelson, Brock McCormick and Rawson scored one run each.
In a later game Friday Juneau fell to South Post 4 by one run, 3-2 and left four runners stranded on base.
Garrison Luben took the loss, throwing six innings, allowing four hits and striking out two and walking four.
Chase Foster had two RBI. Foster and Kai Schmidt had two hits apiece, Rawson and Mendoza one hit apiece. Rawson, who also earned one walk, scored the two runs.
On Saturday Juneau defeated Eagle River 4-3 in the first of two games.
Christian Ludeman started and threw 2.1 innings, allowing four hits and three runs, striking out three and walking three. I. Nelson relieved for 4.2 innings, allowing four hits and striking out three and walking one.
I. Nelson had three RBI and McCormick one. I. Nelson had two hits and Mendoza one. Rawson scored two runs, Garrett Bryant and I. Nelson one apiece. Rawson earned three walks, Foster, Mendoza and McCormick two each, Ludeman and Porter Nelson one apiece.
Juneau broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning as I. Nelson led off with a single, Foster earned a two out walk, Mendoza earned a walk and McCormick earned a walk.
Later Saturday Juneau defeated East Post 34 by the score of 10-0.
McCurley went two innings, allowed one hit, struck out one and walked one. Mendoza relieved for two innings and struck out two and walked one. Joe Aline closed for one inning.
Rawson led the Juneau sticks, going 2-3 with three RBI and one run scored.
I. Nelson had two RBI, P. Nelson, Mendoza, Ludeman and Foster one each. Ludeman had two hits, P. Nelson, I. Nelson, Mendoza, McCormick and McCurley one each. P. Nelson and Bryant scored two runs, I. Nelson, Mendoza, McCormick, Rawson, Foster and Luben one run each. Luben earned two walks, P. Nelson, Mendoza, Foster and Schmidt one each.
On Sunday Juneau finished the road play with a 10-3 loss to South Post 4.
Juneau scored their three runs in the bottom of the second inning and led 3-0 as Ludeman, McCormick and Rawson singled to load the bases. Luben singled to score Ludeman, McCurley grounded out scoring McCormick, and Foster grounded out scoring Rawson.
McCormick started and went 6.1 innings, allowed nine hits and eight runs, struck out eight and walked four. P. Nelson relived for two outs, allowed three hits, two runs and walked one.
Juneau Post 25 will host Palmer Post 15, Friday and Saturday at Adair Kennedy Field.
