The team has played at the Anchorage Invitational earlier in the season. Results were not available at press time.

The Region V Tennis Tournament will be Sept. 22-25 at the Alaska Club Juneau Valley and the Alaska School Activities Association state championships will be in Anchorage, Oct. 7-9.

The state categories are girls singles, boys singles, girls doubles, boys doubles, and mixed doubles. Eight players will be selected with two alternates. JDHS gets to choose eight players because no other tennis teams are in the Region V.

Last season JDHS state qualifiers were Anna Dale, Jaymie Collman, Callan Smith, Brendan West, Adelie McMillian (graduated), Liam Penn, Will Rehfeldt and Katie Pikul.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic the team did not attend state and the event only included players form Colony, Dimond, Lathrop, Palmer, South Anchorage, Wasilla, West Anchorage and West Valley.

Juneau-Douglas placed fifth at the 2019 state tournament won by co-champions South and West Anchorage. At that state tournament the Crimson Bears won the Sportsmanship Award; Anna Dale placed fifth in girls singles; William Smoker and Will Rehfeldt placed fifth in boys doubles; Olivia Moore and Jaymie Collman placed third in girls doubles; and Liam Penn and Adelie McMillan placed fourth in mixed doubles.
