Crimson Bears Earn Saturday Afternoon Win over Ketchikan, Teams in Action Tonight

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Juneau-Douglas Yadaa.at Kalé volleyball team defeated Ketchikan in four sets on Saturday afternoon in the Crimson Bears den by scores of 25-21, 17-25, 25-23 and 25-21. The two teams play again tonight at 5:30 p.m. The Crimson Bears will honor their senior players at 5 p.m.

      Partial statistics show JDHS senior Brooke Sanford leading the Crimson Bears with 20 attacking scores; junior Ashley Laudert had 10; and sophomore Kiah Yadao four. Senior Cosley Bruno, sophomore Remi Starks and Sanford had two service aces each, senior Paige Adams, junior Carlynn Casperson and sophomore Chloe Casperson one each. JDHS senior Merry Newman was not in action due to injury.

      Ketchikan junior Alli Thomas and sophomore Bree Johnson nine scoring attacks apiece, junior Lindsay Byron and sophomore Issabella Zink seven apiece.

      The Crimson Bears’ Carlynn Casperson served an ace for set one winner; The Lady Kings’ Byron served an ace for set two winner; and JDHS won set three and set four on Kayhi hitting errors.
