Wrangell, Alaska (KINY) - A resolution is on tap Aug. 11 in Wrangell to ask citizens to wear masks in the borough.
Several changing circumstances have led the Wrangell Emergency Operations Center to request a public discussion regarding the potential for face coverings.
According to City and Borough of Wrangell Manager Lisa von Bargen, the CDC and State of Alaska are continuing to issue guidance about the importance of wearing face coverings to help control the spread of COVID-19.
"Locations in Alaska, like Anchorage, and the lower 48 seeing surges in community spread are having to reinstate some business limitations, thus further impacting the economy," von Bargen stated.
The decision to make the resolution, which is based on a Sitka resolution, was made during an Aug. 4 special assembly meeting.
