Wrangell, Alaska (KINY) - The City and Borough of Wrangell Assembly will hold public hearings this month on three ordinances.

The Assembly will meet Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 6 p.m. at City Hall.

On the agenda for the meeting are two general obligation bond ordinances, and an ordinance that would all the borough to sell the former mill site property.

The first ordinance would authorize the borough to issue general obligation bonds to finance major renovation of the three public schools in town, and other related capital improvements. A second ordinance would authorize the borough to issue general obligation bonds to finance major renovation of the public safety building and other related capital improvements.

The question of issuing the bonds would be submitted to voters in the borough at the regular election to be held on Oct. 4.

A third ordinance would ask voters to ratify CBW Ordinance no. 1031, which would allow the city to sell and/or lease the 6-Mile Deep Water Industrial site (the former mill site property).
