Winter storm warning issued

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) Forecasters predict between a foot and 18 inches of snow will fall in Juneau over a 28 hour period.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for heavy snow to begin at noon today and run until 4 pm Friday.  The winter storm warning affects the Juneau Borough and Northern Admiralty Island.

Forecasters said it could be very difficult to impossible to travel and that the hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commutes.  The snow is also expected to become mixed with rain and sleet and become heavier in weight, that will make snow removal difficult.
