Williams sentenced in sex abuse case

    Yakutat, Alaska (KINY) Richard Dean Williams pled guilty to a charge of attempted sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree.

    Williams, 29, received 20 years in prison with 13 years suspended.  In addition he was sentenced to 10 years probation. Three counts of sexual abuse against a minor in the second degree were dismissed in the case.

    Williams was originally charged with an illegal relationship with a 14 year old girl he had over a one month period in 2016.  It was alleged that Williams was found consuming marijuana with the undressed teen in a Yakutat home in June of 2016.
