Veterans town hall meeting tonight

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) Alaska veterans could have more access to health care.

Alaska Veterans Health Care System Director Dr. Timothy Ballard said his agency will hire 100 additional workers under a plan funded by the Trump Administration.  The Veterans Affairs budget was increased by six percent providing funds for the new workers.

Juneau will host a Veterans Town Hall meeting tonight at the UAS Recreation Center at 5 pm to discuss issues that impact veterans.

The agency plans to hire more primary care physicians and support staff so veterans won't have to wait so long for health care.
