Vaccine studies in high gear for COVID-19

Washington, DC (ABC) - Scientists are hard at work on potential treatments for the coronavirus.

Half of the states have taken the first steps to ease restrictions caused by the virus.

Scientists have used this time of social distancing and restrictions to study for a cure.  More than 100 vaccine studies are underway in the world.

At least eight are human trials here in the United States.

New York tested at least 15,000 people for antibodies to show if a person may have been exposed to the virus.

Experts said there are questions about the reliability of these tests.

Few of the tests have been authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
