USPS Clerk Gregory Podsiki celebrates 30 years of service

Haines, Alaska (KINY) - Haines Post Office workers surprised long time employee Greg Podsiki with a banner and with hanged origame birds from the ceiling of his office.

Podsiki, a big fan of birds, was also greeted warmly by his daughters and grandchildren.

Postmaster Genevieve Bell presented Podsiki with a Certificate of Appreciation and a 30-year service pin.

"He always comes to work cheerful, does his work safely and efficiently, and has been dedicated to his work and his customers, neighbors, friends, and co-workers," she added.

Podsiki said he enjoys each day on the job and thanked his co-workers, "It has been my honor and pleasure to serve the community of Haines for the past 30 years.  I do my best to make my glass half full, rather than half empty each morning when I come to work.  I believe that attitude is contagious and encourages my co-workers and customers to do the same."
