USCG investigates laser incident

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Coast Guard is seeking information about a suspect or suspects that pointed a green laser light into the cabin of a Station Ketchikan boat crew last Saturday.

The incident occurred at 8:45 p.m. on Saturday the 16th in the Tongass Narrows. They believe the laser came from an area near the intersection of Baranof Avenue and Carlanna Lakes Road.

Striking a vessel operating on the navigable waters of the United States with a laser pointer beam is a felony crime.

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to contact investigators at 907-463-2117 or anonymously online on the Coast Guard Investigative Services website.
