US/Canada to ban non-essential travel

Washington, DC (KINY) - President Donald Trump wrote on Twitter that the United States and Canada by mutual consent will temporarily close the Northern Border.

Trump said the joint agreement was the latest effort to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.  He said it would not impact trade between the two nations.

The two countries continue to talk about allowing some types of vehicles and individuals to travel between the two countries for certain purposes.
