Update: Statewide COVID numbers for Sunday released

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A count by the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services Sunday came up with 257 new COVID-19 cases in the state.

    Anchorage topped the count with 85.  

    In Southeast Alaska, the state counted two in Juneau and one each in Ketchikan and Sitka.

    No new deaths were reported Sunday, but one was recorded Saturday. The person who died was a Fairbanks man in his 30s.  

    There are currently 76 patients diagnosed with COVID 19 who are hospitalized.  There are six additional patients considered persons under investigation.  So there's a total of 82 current-related hospitalizations.   Ten are on ventilators.
