Two rescued by Coast Guard

Sitka, Alaska (KINY) The pair were working to help remove a grounded vessel when their skiff got stuck.

An MH-60 helicopter from the U.S Coast Guard Air Station Sitka  rescued the two from Pt. Saook on Baranof Island.  The two were assisting in the salvage of the grounded vessel EH.  Their skiff became capsized and grounded and they were unable to depart the area.  The helicopter and crew picked up the two men without incident and transported them to Sitka in good condition.

Earlier this week the helicopter rescued a 57 year old Hoonah woman who had a medical emergency.  The Coast Guard said the woman was taken back to Juneau to an awaiting medical helicopter who transported the woman to Anchorage.
