Thorne Bay, Alaska (KINY) - Alaska State Troopers said a single-vehicle rolled several times on North Island Road.

The driver, Sasha Searle, 18, suffered serious injuries and her passenger, Jacob Christensen, 23, was also injured in the crash at mile 32.

Troopers said a preliminary investigation found Searle was operating a 1992 Dodge pickup that, for reasons unknown, drifted off the roadway.  When Searle reacted the vehicle rolled multiple times.  Searle was ejected during the crash.

Christensen had to be cut free from the vehicle by local firemen.

Troopers said neither passenger wore a seat belt.

They have ruled out alcohol and speed as factors in the crash as the investigation continues.
