Kodiak, Alaska (KINY) - Canadian silver coins, gold jewelry and two handguns were stolen from a residence on February 6.
State Troopers developed suspects during a two-week investigation and recovered coins as they were purchased by pawn shops in Kodiak, Anchorage, and Fairbanks.
Troopers estimated the value of the stolen coins at $126,000.
Troopers and Kodiak Police executed a search warrant Saturday and recovered $10,350 worth of the stolen silver coins, gold jewelry, shipping receipts, ledgers and postal service tracking numbers.
Christopher Peters, 34, was charged with burglary in the first-degree, and theft in the second-degree. Peters was held at the Kodiak Jail to await a court appearance.
The investigation is ongoing.
