Cantwell, Alaska (KINY) Tristan Carey of Fairbanks, 21 and Rachel Weter, 21 of Huslia died in the crash on the Parks Highway.
A dispatch from Alaska State Troopers said both victims were in a minivan that crossed the center line near Mile 210 and collided with an oncoming semi truck hauling two fuel tankers.
Troopers and other emergency crews responded to the report of a commercial vehicle fire and investigated the crash. The truck driver suffered non life threatening injuries.
