Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A Fairbanks man accused of assaulting a woman recently committed suicide while Alaska State Troopers were in pursuit of him.

An arrest warrant was issued for 39-year-old Michael Quinn on Tuesday.

The suspect was spotted driving an SUV around noon that day and sped away from  Troopers.

A Trooper dispatch says the vehicle abruptly slowed down a short distance away and drove into a snowbank flipping in the process.

When Troopers arrived at the vehicle, Quinn was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

His remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner.
