Top officers of Docks and Harbors Board re-elected

    JUNEAU, Alaska (KINY) - The CBJ Docks and Harbors Board of Directors re-elected top officers during its regular meeting Thursday evening.

    Tom Donek will continue as chair and Budd Simpson as co-chair.
    The request by Central Council Tlingit Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska’s to raze the former Thane Ore House was approved conditionally predicated on receiving a remediation plan.
    Two sets of regulations were adopted.  One prohibits the discharge of sewage into Juneau Harbors.  The other authorizes a daily commercial launch ramp permit.  Previously, the department only issued an annual permit.
    Members okayed an engineering design contract to proceed with Phase III of the Statter Harbor project.
    The board approved a motion calling on the Assembly to adopt a resolution supporting submission of a Municipal Harbor Grant application to the state.
