Three Assembly committees to take up a wide variety of issues during Monday meetings

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Assembly Committee of the Whole meets Monday evening.

    Mayo Beth Weldon says agenda items include proposed changes to the fireworks ordinance, a capital improvement projects priority list for submission to the state legislature, and a presentation from Clerk Beth McEwen on elections and what needs to be done to make this fall's election possible this fall.

    The committee of the whole meeting convenes at 6 p.m.

    The Lands, Housing and Economic Development Committee convenes an hour earlier at 5 p.m.  

    Chief Housing Officer Scott Ciambor will present a housing action plan task list.

    Members will also be updated on development activity.

    The Public Works and Facilities Committee meets over the Noon hour Monday.

    That committee will review the draft Fiscal Year 2022 six year capital improvement program prepared by staff.

    It will also be asked to forward to the full Assembly a $425,000 appropriation from hospital reserves to begin design of Bartlett's emergency department addition project.
