Three Assembly committees meet Monday

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Highlighting Monday night's Assembly Committee of the Whole meeting is an ordinance that would regulate fireworks.

    Other topics before the committee will be mental health interventions for vulnerable populations; how the community should respond to COIVD-19 moving forward; and an implementation plan for the Visitor Industry Task Force report.

    The Committee of the Whole meeting is scheduled to convene at 6 p.m.

    The Lands, Housing and Economic Development Committee convenes an hour earlier at 5 p.m.  The panel will examine a proposed floodplain ordinance and review recommendations on improving urban avalanche mapping and operational forecasting.        

    The Public Works and Facilities Committee meets over the Noon hour Monday. Members will take up solid waste issues, learn about improvements at the airport float pond, and receive an update on the strategy to be employed for the development of public electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
