Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) - The third case involves a Ketchikan Gateway Borough employee who worked closely with the first case.
The person self-isolated and sought testing upon experiencing symptoms of the illness.
The White Cliff Building was closed following confirmation of the first case in Ketchikan on Tuesday. Other borough employees have self-isolated at home for the next two weeks. They are working from home.
Ketchikan Public Health officials plan to conduct a contact investigation and reach out to any person who may have come into contact with this individual.
Health officials asked residents who are sick or suspect that they may be infected with COVID-19, to call a healthcare provider for medical advice.
They ask people who feel sick to stay home. Older Americans are asked to stay home and away from other people.
