Third-Party Groups Criticized in Alaska Governor's Race

JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — A Democratic state senator wants a group supporting Alaska Republican gubernatorial candidate Mike Dunleavy to stop implying he supports Dunleavy.

Sen. Bill Wielechowski says Dunleavy for Alaska is deceiving voters.

The group's website shows what Wielechowski says is a doctored image of him and Dunleavy and has audio of Wielechowski saying he likes Dunleavy.

Wielechowski acknowledges liking Dunleavy but says they disagree on many issues. Wielechowski has endorsed Democrat Mark Begich.

Dunleavy for Alaska was reviewing Wielechowski's complaint.

Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood Votes Northwest and Hawaii stands behind an ad supporting Begich that mentions Gov. Bill Walker. Walker ended his campaign and said Begich would be better than Dunleavy.

Begich supports abortion rights; Walker doesn't. A Walker spokeswoman says the ad implies support for Begich positions that Walker did not offer.
