Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - DOT is planning a closure of Thane Road on Tuesday, March 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for avalanche hazard reduction.
Weather permitting, the hazard reduction will take place to allow AEL&P to make repairs.
If an avalanche's debris reaches the roadway, they may have to keep it closed longer.
