Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities closed Thane Road Saturday afternoon for just over two hours to conduct avalanche control work.
The roadway was reopened after four p.m., according to Juneau Police.
There's no word from DOT on how the operation faired.
A posting from the City and Borough of Juneau Saturday morning said avalanche danger was moderate with both natural and human-triggered avalanches possible.
