Ten days until deadline for Pack Creek guiding proposals

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The deadline for interested businesses to submit proposals for guided recreation services at the Pack Creek Bear Viewing Area is June 2, 2023, by 4:30 p.m.

The prospectus has been available online since March at: Tongass National Forest Outfitting and Guiding webpage, see “Current Advertisements”. It describes the business opportunity for providing commercial recreation services to national forest visitors at Pack Creek Bear Viewing Area during April 1 to July 4 and August 26 to September 30, annually.

The Pack Creek Bear Viewing Area is located within the Admiralty Island National Monument and part of the Kootznoowoo Wilderness. Applicants will need to demonstrate their awareness of their role in minimizing impacts to wilderness resources and character while offering a safe, high-quality wilderness experience.
