Taxi rates in the Capital City could be going up

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Taxi rates could increase under proposed new regulations before the City and Borough of Juneau.

An initial increase would be effective on June 22, 2020, and a subsequent increase would take effect one year later.

A one-week period preceding each of the effective dates would allow for the conversion of meters.

Once a vehicle’s meter is converted, the new rates would be effective.

Comments to the CBJ are due by April 30 and may be submitted in writing to the City Manager’s office via email to, or regular mail to 155 S. Seward Street, Juneau, Alaska 99801.
