Sword used in murder attempt

    Soldotna, Alaska (KINY) Alaska State Troopers arrested a man who struck a family member with a sword and tried to strangle him Monday night.

    Darrell J. Moore, 25, was charged with attempted murder in the first degree, assault in the first degree and two counts of assault in the third degree.
    A trooper dispatch reported that they responded to mile 94 of the Sterling Highway for the report of a male being struck with a sword.  They arrested Moore after the investigation found he caused the fear of death in the victim. 
    Moore was taken to the Wildwood pretrial facility and was held without bail.
