Suspect arrested in connection with Foodland parking lot hit and run

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau Police reported Saturday that a suspect was arrested Friday morning in connection with the hit and run accident involving a pedestrian in the Foodland parking lot.

    A patrol sergeant stopped the two-tone silver Dodge truck on Crest Street.  The driver, 36-year-old Randal Benc, was later arrested for assault in the first degree and action of operator after an accident.  He was jailed at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

    The 26-year-old man hit by the truck sustained serious injuries and was medevaced to the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to police.
