State surpasses 1,000 COVID-19 cases

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The daily report from the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services showed 39 new resident cases on Thursday brining the state total case load to 1,017.

    The report also found 209 non-residents have tested positive for the virus in Alaska.

    The report went on to report 535 recovered patients, 468 active cases, and 18 people who are currently hospitalized or considered a person under investigation for having the virus.

    There was one new resident case in Sitka, and two new non-resident cases in Southeast, one in Petersburg, and one in Haines.

    Juneau remained at 44 resident cases.

    New resident cases included 15 in Anchorage, four in Kenai, one in Kodiak, one in Fairbanks, one in North Pole, two in Tok, nine in Wasilla, four in Palmer and one in Big Lake.
