State reports 94 additional cases of COVID-19

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services daily report listed 2,132 total resident cases and 487 non-resident cases on Wednesday.

    There were 92 new resident cases and two non-resident cases confirmed.

    New resident cases included seven in Juneau, three in Ketchikan and two in Sitka.

    Other resident cases included 42 in Anchorage, two in Kenai, one in Seward, 11 in the Valdez-Cordova census area, nine in Fairbanks, one in North Pole, three in Yukon-Koyukuk, six in Wasilla, two in Palmer and one in Utqiagvik.

    The report also showed 753 recovered cases, 109 total hospitalizations, and 19 deaths.  34 people are currently in the hospital or considered a person under investigation for having the virus.

    Active cases rose from 892 on July 14 to 1,360 cases on July 21.

    The report showed 38.7 percent of the resident cases were of patients ages 29 and under.
