State reports 62 new COVID-19 cases in 15 communities

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau added five cases and Douglas one case in the daily report on COVID-19 released Sunday by the Alaska Department of Health & Social Services.

    The report showed 27 cases in Anchorage, seven in North Pole, seven in Fairbanks, four in Wasilla, two in Palmer, two in Eagle River, five in Juneau, and one case each in Bristol Bay, Douglas, the Fairbanks North Star Borough, Kotzebue, Princes of Wales, Utqiagvik, Willow and the Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area.

    There were no new reports of nonresident cases.

    The total number of Alaska resident cases is 6,278.  The nonresident case total is 915.

    There are 33 patients currently COVID positive that are hospitalized in the state.

    Recovered cases total 2,168.

    The state reported 401,213 tests have been administered since the pandemic began.   The average percentage of daily positive tests for the past week is 1.96%.
