State medical officer earns praise for coronavirus approach

Juneau, Alaska (AP) - The state's chief medical officer, Dr. Anne Zink, has become the explainer-in-chief for Alaskans during the coronavirus outbreak.

She's been a regular at news conferences and has become known for providing information in a straightforward, easy-to-understand manner.

She’s gotten praise from residents for her approach. Colleagues of the emergency medicine physician aren’t surprised.

State health Commissioner Adam Crum thinks Zink's emergency medicine experience has helped prepare her for this time.

He says the chaos is normal in emergency medicine and helped prepare her for this period.
