State Marijuana Board to conduct three day meeting in Nome

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The State Marijuana Control Board convenes a three day meeting in Nome Wednesday.

Board member Loren Jones of Juneau says its a heavy agenda.   "We're in that part of the industry  now where we have operating plan changes.  We have manufacturers who are adding new products.  We have change of ownership."

He says there are a couple of resolutions on the agenda related to U. S. Attorney General Sessions pronouncements on enforcement of federal laws that prohibit the use of marijuana.  Another resolution addresses a change in the tax structure.

There's upwards of 30 new applications for the board to review, according to Jones.

Only one is from a Juneau based company,  Top Hat Concentrates, LLC.  Jones said he assumes the company has new products for which  it is seeking board approval.

Other applications from Southeast Alaska include an ownership license transfer for the Remedy Shoppe in Skagway;  a proposal from Glacier Bay Farms in Haines for a new cultivation facility; and a new marijuana concentrate manufacturing facility proposed by Frog Mountain in Ketchikan.
