Southeast Alaska has 57 COVID-19 cases so far

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - In Southeast Alaska, there are six active cases, 50 recoveries, and one death due to COVID-19.

    In Juneau there are currently 33 cases (28 recovered, 5 active), Ketchikan has 16 cases with all recovered, Prince of Wales Island, specifically in Craig, has had two cases with both recovered, and Sitka has had two cases, with one recovered and one active.

    Petersburg has had four cases, with three recovered and one death.

    The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Alaska is currently 430, including five new cases as of May 28. Of these cases, 57 are in Southeast Alaska, 103 individuals had a recent history of travel, and 327 were close contact, community, or unknown.

    There has been a total of 367 statewide recoveries, 47 hospitalizations and 10 deaths.
