Snowstorm closes Juneau schools

    Juneau-Douglas High School.

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The storm dumped at least six inches in parts of the borough on Monday.

    The snow is expected to change over to rain later this morning.

    School Officials said all programs, all classes, Rally and all after school activities have been canceled.

    Short-term employees do not have to report to work.  Ten and 12-month employees are to report to work when it is safe to do so.

    Juneau Police said the roads were very slick in spots this morning and urged commuters to use caution.

    Faith Community Christian School also is closed today.

    UAS plans to start classes at 10 am.
