Snagged for Snagging

    JUNEAU, Alaska (KINY) - Two people, including a sport fishing guide, were busted by Alaska Wildlife Troopers in separate incidents this month for snagging fish at the DIPAC Hatchery in Juneau.

    In a case from July 1, Troopers contacted 25 year old Jamison Miller and 22 year old Rachel Miller, both of Juneau.  According to the Trooper dispatch, Jamison Miller was fishing without a sports fishing license.   Troopers also determined that Rachel Miller was attempting to snag fish in the prohibited area there.  

    Jamison Miller was issued a citation of $210.  Rachel Miller's citation carries a $110 fine.

    The other case occurred on July 7 when 29 year old Anthony Delgado was contacted by Troopers.    According to the dispatch, the investigation revealed that the sport fishing guide was instructing clients how to snag fish in the prohibited area.  His citation amounts to $110.
