Small oil spill reported

Valdez, Alaska (KINY) The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation has reported a spill at the Valdez Marine Terminal.

.The spill is less than 200 gallons of crude oil from the Alaska North Slope.  The spill was discovered Saturday morning by a worker on routine rounds.

KTVA News reported that there was oil in the water but no sheen was observed.  An investigation is underway to figure out how the spill occurred.  It is possible the oil leaked from the loading arms into containment.  There was no impact to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline.
