Sitka, Alaska (KINY) - The City & Borough of Sitka will consider an amendment to Emergency Ordinance 2020-14 on Tuesday by adding an exception to the 14-day self-quarantine requirement.
The amendment would reference people arriving in Sitka who are working at public works projects, community-based government functions and
operations, or private construction projects as approved by the municipal administrator.
Those arriving in Sitka would be able to go to work immediately, provided the worker applies in writing for and obtains written approval.
All approved workers would need to observe self-quarantine protocols in their non-work times until they complete the required 14-day period. Applications would need to be submitted by email or facsimile.
If the amendment is approved, applications would be submitted before the worker arrives in Sitka. A decision would be made within 72 hours, unless extended for good cause.
The CBS Assembly will meet beginning at 6 p.m. All meetings are broadcast live on Sitka television channel 11.
