Sitka Police Department arrests 36-year-old man on felony assault and burglary

Sitka, Alaska (KINY) - On May 21, the Sitka Police Department received a 911 call from a male who stated another male, known to him, forced his way into his apartment and had physically assaulted him.

Officers responded to the area and observed a male attempting to flee the scene on a bicycle.

Officers were able to take the suspect into custody without incident. 

Michael C Miyasato, 36 years old, was arrested on one felony count of Assault in the First Degree and one felony count of Burglary in the First Degree.

Miyasato is currently being held at the Sitka Jail on a $20,000 bail.
