Second round of business relief program kicks off Monday in Alaska

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Another round of the Alaska American Rescue Plan Act Business Relief Program is on the immediate horizon in Alaska.

The Juneau Economic Development Council is the administrator for the statewide program.

Council Executive Director Brian Holst talked about that on Action Line.  He said round one has been completed and round two is opening up.  An application will go live on the State of Alaska website on March 14, according to Holst, who said there will be 30 days for businesses to apply for relief.

"The program is going to be a little bit different than it was last time around," he said.  "But basically it looks at how your business did from 2019 to 2020."

Holst said there are still businesses out there that haven't received funding and are still struggling, but still operating and still need some relief.

The Alaska State Legislature appropriated $90 Million from the state's  American Rescue Plan Act and Covid State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds toward a tourism and business relief grant program.
