Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - It's back to school Thursday for most Juneau School District students.
A release from the school district states that road and sidewalk conditions have improved significantly so schools, activities and after school programs will return to normal operations.
The district warns that school buses may run a little late as they travel through neighborhoods. Buses are not able to travel Thane Road due to high avalanche danger.
Riverbend Elementary School will remain closed Thursday. Repair and cleanup work continues after flooding at the school, according to the district and the building will be inspected for water damage Thursday.
Staff members will return to the building Thursday to prepare the school for students. The release says the district anticipates that students will be able to attend Friday, although that won't be known for sure until Thursday afternoon.
Riverbend families will be updated then.
