Roads closed on Prince of Wales

    Thorne Bay, Alaska (KINY) - Cleanup is underway after a landslide in southeast Alaska.

    A landslide on Prince of Wales Island has cut off access on South Thorne Bay Road at Mile Marker 3. According to the City of Thorne Bay, crews from Thorne Bay, the City of Kasaan and the Alaska Department of Transportation are working to clear the slide, which was caused by torrential rains.

    The City of Thorne Bay is advising that the power is currently out and that anyone south of 3 Mile that needs medical evacuation or response should call 911 and proceed to Davidson Landing for pickup by boat.

    No injuries or loss of property has been reported at this time.
