Rider Limits will be removed from Public Transit in Juneau

    Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - With the lowered COVID community risk level, Capital Transit and CAPITAL AKcess will be removing rider limits that were put in place due to COVID restrictions.

    Route revisions will also be removed.

    So Capital Transit and Capital AKcess rider limits will be lifted and will resume full capacity service.

    Mitigation measures will stay in place.

    Face coverings are still required per federal law mandating that they be worn on public transportation.

    Passengers are asked to board through the front door and exit through the rear door when possible.

    On Monday Capital Transit will resume normal scheduling with the Express Routes 5 and 6 with service to the Juneau International Airport and the University of Alaska.

    The modified express service between the Downtown Transit Center and the Mendenhall Mall will be discontinued.
