Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Workers at Alaska remote project locations will get $100 per day starting in April 2019.
Workers on government projects in the hinterlands of Alaska will see a pay increase next year.
According to the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development, workers at Alaska remote project locations will get $100 per day starting in April 2019, a bump from the $75 they currently earn.
The rate has remained unchanged since 2005 according to KNOM in Nome.
The rate applies to projects awarded by the state or by a local government. The term “remote” is defined as not accessible by road or more than 65 miles from the airports in Juneau, Fairbanks or Anchorage.
