Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Several major projects are funded including Centennial Hall work, shore power, and improvements to Bartlett Hospital.
The Capital Projects list endorsed by the Assembly Public Works and Facilities Committee included $275,000 for deferred maintenance at Eaglecrest, $100,000 to improve air quality at Capital City Fire Rescue's Glacier Station, $100,000 for trail maintenance and $350,000 for park and playground maintenance.
Other projects funded in the plan include $2.1 million for Tongass Boulevard between Trinity and Loop, $200,000 for electric chargers at the bus barn, $3.3 million for renovations to the Augustus Brown pool, $1.4 million for the Mendenhall Wastewater Treatment Plant, and $2.3 million for Centennial Hall renovations.
The list also includes $1.1 million for the waterfront seawalk, $1 million for shore power, $1 million to enhance pedestrian safety on South Franklin Street, and $1.6 million for Marine Park seawalk infill.
Bartlett Hospital would receive $10.3 million including $5.5 million for Crisis Stabilization.
The CBJ plans $4.2 million in water systems projects and $7.4 million in sewer related projects.
The total cost of the 2021 Capital Improvement Projects total $57.3 million.
