Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - A public hearing on zoning proposals in Auke Bay has been postponed until June 22. It was originally scheduled for June 8.

The public is invited to provide testimony on Auke Bay zoning and overlay district proposals at the Planning Commission hearing on Tuesday, June 22, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held on Zoom and can be accessed via juneau.org.

New zones proposed include a Neighborhood Commerical that is intended to be a "mixed-use neighborhood that is compact and walkable" with medium-density residential units and "neighbor-hood scale commercial activity" and a Mixed Use 3, which has an emphasis on "integrating high density residential...with small-scale commercial," according to a release from the city.

More information on the zone proposals, the Auke Bay Overlay Plan, and the Auke Bay Area Plan are on juneau.org.
