Propane leak suspected in death of two at Soldotna cabin

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Two people were found dead in a cabin in Soldotna Sunday evening.

They are identified as 61-year-old Mary Beltz and 64-year-old Michael Hanno both of Soldotna.

A preliminary by Alaska State Troopers determined that a propane oven had been inadvertently left in the on position while it was not lit filling the cabin with propane.

The remains of both people are being sent to the State Medical Examiners Office for autopsy.
