Prince of Wales murder trial set for August

Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) Albert Macasaet III, is accused of killing his girlfriend Judylee Guthrie.

The Ketchikan Daily News reports that the defense attorney in the case has requested a change of venue for the trial.

Attorney Jay Hochbert argues the small community of Klawock is biased against his client.  He said his clients father was assaulted in an apparent act of retaliation for this murder last November.

Albert Macasaet, Jr, 58, was beaten in his home by Angela Jean Frank, 27, and Delbert Vincent Bitonti, 37.  Both suspects have been charged with second degree assault and first degree burglary.

Jury selection is scheduled to begin on August 8th.
